Community Connection: Thurston County Food Bank

Starting on Wednesday, January 20, Winter Market restaurant vendors HeyDay Café, Madeline’s Bavarian Wurst, Curry in a Hurry and Paella Pro will be donating meals from their menu to the Thurston County Food Bank. The Food Bank will distribute meals at their Thurston Avenue location on January 20.

The restaurants hope to continue donating meals every Wednesday while they have sufficient resources to participate. Other Market Vendors including

Johnson Berry Farm, San Francisco Street Bakery and many other farmers and vendors are regular donors. We are pleased to recognize the Thurston County Food Bank as one of our Community Partners.

Their Core Philosophies include:

  • Eliminating access barriers
  • Prioritizing health
  • Prioritizing children
  • Rescuing good food from going to waste
  • Partnership and collaboration

The Thurston County Food Bank works to ensure that food resources are available throughout the community. They accomplish this through an extensive network of satellite and mobile food banks, the FORKids school backpack program and their Summer Lunch program.

You can support the Thurston County Food Bank by donating directly to their website: Thurston County Food Bank | Working to end hunger in our community.
