For fifty years, hundreds of unique personalities have shaped the Olympia Farmers Market. Some are kind, some funny, some stubborn, some visionary, some anxious, some traditional, some with their head in the clouds: all exceptionally brave.
Brave enough to turn hope into belief, into certainty that the seeds they plant will grow into something delicious. That the wood they carve will become something beautiful and useful. That the stories they share will resonate. They’ve bet on their skills, their perspectives, and their passion to build stability for their families and communities. And they’ve bet on one another, trusting that despite differences, everyone will show up when it matters most.
This vibrant, bustling Market exists because of bent backs, chipped nails, kept promises, long hours, and the courage to laugh in the face of obstacles. Join us in celebrating that enduring spirit: National Farmers Market Week is August 3rd - 9th, with our 50th Anniversary on Saturday the 9th. Join us for activities, specials, and reflect on all that’s come before while participating in what comes next!
Starting Thursday, August 7th: enjoy a self-guiding history tour of the Market, sign up to win a quilt (in honor of the original quilt auctioned in 1975 for Market seed money), and swing by our Outreach Table to win a very special gift basket.
Saturday, August 9: Celebrate the Market’s golden milestone with a full day of fun, music, memories, and surprises.
Wear Your 1975 Best! We’re throwing it back to the year it all began. The fun will be happening from 10 am - 3 pm:
Plus, many more on-site surprises!
We’re so thankful you’re here! Come celebrate with us at your Olympia Farmers Market!
