Rules for Non-Profit Participation at the Olympia Farmers Market

No more than four non profits per day on the Market site.
Each non-profit may only participate at the Market four days, of their choosing,
depending on availability, per season.
The locations for set-up will be chosen by Market staff.
The non-profit must schedule at least two weeks in advance.
Raffle tickets only may be sold by the non-profit. No actual products or merchandise
may be sold ie: buttons, T-shirts, crafts, etc.
If you intend to sell raffle tickets, a $10.00 fee will be charged to go to the
Market's food drive.
The non-profit must supply their own table, no larger than 3 ft by 3 ft, and chair. A patio
sized umbrella may be used but nothing larger.
You may not wander around the Market and approach customers as they eat or shop,
nor are you allowed to go under the roof of the Market to conduct your business.
Petitioning / Signature Gathering / Leafleting Policy
Petitioning, passing out literature, etc. is permitted at the Olympia Farmers Market,
provided the following guidelines are followed:
1. In gathering signatures, the following areas will be used for this purpose:

a) The blacktop area on either side of the market stage/restroom building, but no
further south than the painted line extending from the front of the stage, and extending
west, from the west side of the stage, and extending east, from the east side of the
stage.
b) The south entrance to the Market building, on the blacktop area outside the
threshold of the building.
c) The west end of the market plaza, on the blacktop area, extending no further than six
(6) feet from the sidewalk, and centered in line with the junction of the two galvanized
metal supports on the west end of the market building.
d) Other areas as designated by the Market site manager.
2. Petitioners, signature gatherers, leafleters, etc. will in no way block or harass patrons
of the farmers market. If customers or vendors complain about the behavior of a
signature gatherer, the person in question will be notified. If complaints continue, the
person will then be asked to leave the site.
3. Under no circumstances are petitioners, signature gatherers, leafleters, etc. allowed
to enter the market building, or stray from the signature gathering areas, for the
purpose of soliciting signatures, their issues or materials.

4. Petitioners, signature gatherers, leafleters, etc. are responsible for all of their own
fixtures, and the storage and/or transportation of those fixtures to/from the market site.

5. The Olympia Farmers Market respects the First Amendment rights of any individual
or organization. These guidelines are intended to provide a policy that will allow ample
contact with the public, while respecting the privacy of market patrons and vendors, and
providing them with a positive experience while at the Farmers Market.
